Slo-Stitched photos

My love of adventure and travel has taken me all over the world.  One of the things I like best, about traveling, besides eating new foods, is what I see with my camera or iphone!  I am especially drawn to patterns, textures and colors.

I print my photos onto upcycled cotton, often men's white dress shirts because the cotton is so deliciously smooth.

I enhance the image with hours of hand-stitching using cotton, wool or silk threads. The end result is a highly textured piece which is often a visual mystery inviting an interaction between the viewer and the artwork that is as evocative as it is intriguing.
